Structural Engineer Intern

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Assists Sales Engineer Design Engineer (EIT), Design Engineer, Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager with engineering design for buildings and structures that are safe, meet applicable codes, and are economical.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION (to include, but not limited to):

• Assist Sales Engineer, Design Engineer (EIT), Design Engineer, Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager with their duties and responsibilities which may include design calculations, structural modeling or research.
• Responsible for following the Engineering Code of Ethics and all applicable laws and regulations
• Participate and cooperate with every department while enthusiastically advocating teamwork and frequent communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of high school with post high school education focus on engineering or related vocation, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Two years or more of post high school education preferred. 
• Good knowledge of math (Algebra, Trigonometry and Geometry).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Good English skills.  Able to speak, read and understand.
• Computer skills – Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.
• Excellent work ethic
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers

JOB MAY REQUIRE:

• Repetitive motion (to include, but not limited to): sitting for long periods of time, working at a computer and typing for long periods of time.
• Work involves walking, verbal communication, listening, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls
• May be required to lift objects up to 10 lbs.
