Electrical Engineer Internship

Position: Electrical Engineering Intern 

Location: Greenwood, IN

The FDF Group is made up of (6) long established businesses spread throughout The Midwest and Southeastern regions.

This internship will support our Electrical Engineering Team in projects such as:

•  Provide Technical and administrative support to Electrical Engineering Group

•  Read mechanical & electrical Blueprints and be able to troubleshoot equipment, in both mechanical &   

   electrical systems

•  Review/create bill of materials & scope of work documentation

•  Review product specifications and create internal equipment standards

•  Ability to revise electrical schematics in AutoCAD & E-Plan Software

•  Assist in the development of SOPs for the electrical design process and add to PDM

•  Assist in the design of projects, drawings, debugging of programs, and setting up project runoffs and teardowns.

•  Develop Electrical Drawing Library

  • Establish an E-Plan /AutoCAD Electrical compatible Library of vendor parts.
  • Consolidate project Electrical Drawing files into one location and convert them to E-Plan format if required.

•  Assist in developing Standard Programs Library

  • Establish a library of standardized Routines and Blocks.
  • Establish a library of standardized HMI screens and graphics.

•  Ability to create detailed technical reports for internal and/or customer use

Competencies

•  Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD Systems such as AutoCAD Electrical and E-Plan

•  Strong Computer Skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications

•  Well Developed problem-solving & communication

•  Excellent written and interpersonal skills

•  Comfortability in sharing thoughts, ideas, and questions

How will this internship contribute to the development of his/her knowledge, skills & abilities?

• Due to the expectation that many of the requested tasks will be learning experiences in the areas of automatic controls design, industrial automation, systems, and project engineering. All work will be completed under the supervision of experienced team members who will provide appropriate instruction. 

• Degree Concentrations applicable to the Industrial Segment: Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Manufacturing related concentrations.
