Chemours is seeking a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer Intern to join our Engineering Technology team! This position will report directly to the Engineering Technology Manager.  

 

As a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the mobile equipment engineer and mobile asset team gaining valuable experience through hands-on reliability engineering projects impacting the rail and ISO fleets. You will have exposure to real-time engineering work alongside other engineers to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom.  

 

Effective engineering interns will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive. 

 

Location: Wilmington, DE or Remote 

Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week 

Preferred First Term: May-August 2023 

 

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Analyzing equipment performance and recommending inspection intervals for rail and ISO fleets. 

Establish reliability performance levels using reliability analysis software.   

Compile and analyze documentation needed to update tank car Certificates of Construction 

Participating in process safety management activities  

Contributing to team meetings and conference calls 

 

 The following is required for this role: 

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a rising Junior or above at time of assignment  
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar fields 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized 

 

The following is preferred for this role

Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom 

3.0 GPA or above 

Demonstrated ability to manage and work with large datasets
