Central Region Construction Engineering Intern

The Alaska Department of Transportation Central Region Construction Section has several exciting Summer Engineering Intern positions available. These positions pay $16.~/Hr. and are overtime eligible.  Our Summer Interns are assigned to one or more of the various Highway or Aviation Construction Projects throughout the Central Region. Working under the direction of the Project Engineer they will perform various inspection and office engineering duties as assigned.  The minimum requirements for the Program are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  1. Interns must be college level students with practical common sense that are:
  2. Currently enrolled in good standing at a university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET);
  3. Completed their freshman year in engineering training; and
  4. Have earned a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.

 

  1. Interns must be Alaskan Residents with a current State of Alaska driver’s license.

 

  1. Interns must be capable of traveling to remote locations and working long hours.
