Qualifications:

 

  • Strong knowledge and experience in GIS, geoscience, geology, and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, RR, and GIS.
  • Familiarity with research mathematics, research physical sciences, and atmospheric science.
  • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and parallel programming.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques for data analysis and prediction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with large and complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical and numerical computation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Write technical reports and journal articles to disseminate knowledge gained through Corps of Engineer projects.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and scientists in the execution of research and reimbursable projects.
  • Determine existing and future potential coastal engineering and navigation research needs.
  • Foster collaboration between the Engineer and Research Development Center and academia.
  • Write proposals and other documents to obtain research and reimbursable funds.
  • Assemble and organize data in narrative form for presentation and publications.
  • Deliver research products (reports, software, analyses, and databases).
