Position:

We are looking for a project engineer level water/wastewater Civil Engineer to join our team. The applicant will have the following experience and training:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in the field of water and wastewater engineering.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • A current Professional Engineer’s license, preferably issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, or the ability to obtain a California license within a year.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must as this position includes duties associated with coordinating with engineering staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and teaming partners.
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License.

Job Description:

Expected duties and other essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Professional engineer’s work in planning, report preparation, design, construction, technical analysis, agency coordination, and client interaction for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Supervisory skills and the ability to work well with and manage engineering staff with varying levels of experience.
  • Preparation of cost estimates for budget recommendations.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets.
  • Consult with a variety of regulatory agencies, subconsultants, stakeholders, equipment vendors, and engineers.


Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of the standard principles and practices of professional engineering with the following:
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Experience with hydro modeling, or hydrogeology, biological processes.
  • Budget monitoring, safety management, and project management.
  • Relevant local, State, and Federal laws, ordinances, and rules, including CEQA regulations.
  • Current literature and sources of information regarding water and wastewater.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives.
  • Establish schedules and methods for the performance of technical and professional engineering duties.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of assigned programs and project budgets.
  • Implement policies and procedures related to assigned projects.
Technology Skills:
  • Analytical or scientific software - Innovyze Software (InfoWater, InfoSewer); Bentley Systems (SewerCAD/WaterCAD)
  • Map creation software - ESRI ArcGIS software; MapInfo
  • Office suite software - Microsoft Office
  • PDF software - Adobe Acrobat Pro; Bluebeam


Salary:

Compensation for the position is commensurate with education, experience, attitude, skills, and references.
