The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality has an opening for a Senior (Supervisory) Environmental Scientist in the Surface Water Permitting Section. 

The position is located at the California Environmental Protection Agency Headquarters Building, 1001 I Street, 15 Floor, Sacramento, 95814 (Downtown near light rail stations, Amtrak and other public transportation systems).

In addition to the duties provided in the attached Duty Statement, duties for this position include a high level of written and verbal communications with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will serve as a Unit Manager that supervises technical staff, and as the Program Manager of the Statewide Industrial and Construction Stormwater Regulatory Programs. The incumbent will be responsible for concurrently managing multiple high-priority permitting and permit implementation projects, while maintaining ongoing supervisory responsibilities.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
