The State Water Resources Control Board’s, Division of Administration Services has an opening for a Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) (SSM II) in the Human Resources Branch to oversee the Payroll and Benefits section. The position location is 1001 I Street, 18th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814.

Duties:
Under general direction of the Staff Services Manager III, the Human Resources Branch Chief, and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to manage and oversee the Payroll and Benefits section, be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. The incumbent must understand the importance of how to create unit cohesion and promote morale, as well as foster the development of staff through coaching and mentoring; help prioritize unit work and serve as a resource for escalated concerns.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
