The Office of Research Planning and Performance Water Conservation Unit has an opening for an Environmental Scientist (Supervisor).  This position is located at 1001 I Street, 13th floor in the heart of downtown Sacramento, next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

As California’s population increases and climate change becomes more prevalent, managing our water for today and future generations requires a strategic, integrated approach that includes a strong emphasis on water use efficiency and conservation. This exciting employment opportunity includes joining an existing multidisciplinary team that is in the pursuit of leading change and developing solutions for efficiency and conservation in California.

You will be part of a group that develops and implements policies and programs in emerging and cross-cutting areas. These currently include climate change, drought response, urban water use efficiency, groundwater management, emergency response and recovery, and leadership development.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
