Field Application Engineer II

Job Summary:
As Field Applications Engineer II you will strengthen technical partnerships with our customers, providing guidance and support for adoption and integration of Mercury’s Solid State Data Recorders (SSDR), Memory and System In Package (SIPs) products. In this role you will be the primary technical resource to our customers that will require substantial experience in embedded hardware, memory sub-systems, Operating Systems, high speed interfaces such as PCIe and Serial Rapid IO (SRIO) and storage solutions.  
 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support on all aspects of Mercury’s System Storage solution products
  • Regularly visit customers to identify new business, align product roadmaps, and discuss ongoing projects including areas of concern and future technology gaps
  • Assist in solving problems and providing test support; be the central point of contact during critical issues between customer and factory teams, work with multi-functional groups until issue resolution has been delivered to the customer
  • Act as a trusted advisor to our customers by providing product recommendations, delivering technical trainings, and developing system solutions.
  • Work with Product teams to evaluate feasibility of specific new products or features and ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Support lab-related activities that support the design-in/validation process, including schematic/board layout reviews, design validation and system level testing
  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to maintain up-to-date knowledge of product roadmap and industry trends in storage technology
  • Create product support collateral such as technical training, application notes to assist customers as they design in Mercury products.
  • Contribute to sales presentations as well as developing and demonstrating prototypes and complete applications.
  • Work with Marketing to develop online product selection tools.
  • Maintain data sheets and other customer facing collateral.
 
 
Required Qualification:
 
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience as a field applications engineer
  • Self-motivated - candidate should enjoy leading and taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Experience with the following:
  • Experience with ARM based embedded application processors such as NXP i.MX series, TI Sitara, Qualcomm, Ambarella, Mediatek, or similar
  • Experience programming in the Linux and Android OS environment
  • Programming experience with C, C++, and / or Python
  • Knowledge of Serial Rapid IO (SRIO), PCIe, NVME
  • Knowledge of radiation effects in storage applications based on SSDs a plus
  • FPGA or Data Converter design experience a plus
  • Experience in the DOD and/or Aerospace domains a plus
  • Self-motivated - candidate should enjoy leading and taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a diverse team environment
