Civil engineering intern - 2023
Mott MacDonald is looking for a civil engineering intern to join our team in West Springfield, MA, or Westwood, MA.
The intern will work alongside senior engineers on a variety of medium to large scale power delivery projects and will be part of an interdisciplinary team that provides project management and engineering services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Work with an interdisciplinary project team comprised of civil, coastal, electrical, geotechnical, environmental and trenchless design members.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop project plans and schedules
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to project reports and presentations
- Utilize engineering software and tools to develop project designs and plans
- Assist with the preparation of construction documents and specifications
- Assist in the development of engineering documents and drawing packages to support various federal, state, and local permit applications.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs and engineer estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages.
- Continuous improvement of engineering knowledge and professional skills.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a civil engineering program at an accredited university
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Interest in renewable energy and sustainable development
