Aggregates Management Trainee - New Braunfels, TX

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Mining Engineer Intern to join our team in New Braunfels, TX.

What you’ll get to do:
 
The successful candidate will work within a structured developmental program, receiving an introduction to all production aspects of the aggregate business. Working with a management sponsor, the candidate will complete assignments and ultimately taking on a Production Supervisor and/ or Plant Manager role at Hanson.
  • Specific responsibilities may include but not limited to assisting Production Supervisors and/ or Plant Managers with:
  • Planning and direction of the daily operations of a quarry producing crushed granite
  • Effectively and proactively administer Lehigh Hanson’s safety program ensuring compliance with MSHA rules and regulations
  • Overseeing the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner
  • Preparing operational schedule and coordinate production activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications
  • Troubleshooting and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
 
Who we are looking for:
  • An entry level candidate with experience in the military, mining or construction industry or an Associate, Bachelors or Advanced degree in engineering, construction management, another applicable program that is interested in pursuing the production aspect of the mining industry
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness maintain a safe workplace and to perform hands on duties as part of an overall development program
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing situations
  • Willingness to travel and / or relocate for future assignments
