Nonprofit Entry-Level Campaign Staff ( paid Internship)

Mission

DC Strings Workshop connects to music through the presentation of concerts, recitals, and educational opportunities throughout the DC metropolitan area, particularly in underserved communities.

Our mission is to share our love of classical and contemporary orchestra and chamber music with the community. We take pride in presenting meaningful and challenging orchestral works that rival the programming of large professional orchestras. DC Strings Workshop works to build community and expand horizons by engaging diverse audiences, supplying instruments to deserving students, and working to expose students and adults alike to the music of women and underrepresented people of color. Please, take a look at our concert schedule, and musicians' profiles, and come join us for a memorable afternoon of music.

ROLE:

Each year we hire hundreds of people to work on our campaigns. Whether this is your first time working on a campaign, or if you are an experienced canvasser, we have a position for you.

Canvasser

As a canvasser with DC STRINGS, you’ll work in one of the dozens of cities across the country. You’ll go out into communities, manage pop-up events and in-person activations, and talk to people about the issues to raise awareness, build our membership and raise money for the organizations and campaigns.

What's canvassing like?

Canvassing is challenging, but it’s something you get better at the more you do it. Non-Profits have been running canvassing campaigns for funding purposes for the past 100 years, so we’ll make sure you learn the skills you need to be successful. In addition, many of the issues that we work on are commonsense policies supported by a sizable majority of people. Canvassing is less a matter of changing someone’s views on an issue, and more of trying to get the people that are with us to support our work and get involved in the campaigns we’re working on in a meaningful way.

Our team is excited to promote music, education, and other topics that affect the community at large.
