Electrical Project Engineer

The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for leading projects in the design of electronic assemblies for aerospace and military applications such as engine controls, motor controls, power converters, sensors, and actuators. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high tech, cutting edge products and have a high degree of ownership of the your designs.

Additionally, the Electrical Project Engineer will:

  • Define technical requirements
  • Define and track tasks required to accomplish the entire lifecycle of the project
  • Oversee trade studies to determine the best system architecture
  • Define and track project schedules
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and purchasing to fabricate hardware
  • Ensure that production unit cost of the product meets requirements
  • Define and track non-recurring project costs
  • Coordinate design reviews
  • Coordinate with other engineering design teams to complete designs
  • Define test plans and oversee the validation and verification of requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems for configuration management, quality control, and hardware requirements planning
  • Working knowledge of electronic component function, use, manufacturing, and assembly
  • Experience with military, aerospace, automotive, and/or high reliability electronics
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design considerations and design for high reliability / harsh environment applications
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to manage multiple projects
  • Must be detail oriented to ensure that all project tasks are completed
  • Support testing of electronic assemblies and should be knowledgeable of MIL-STD-461 and RTCA DO-160 or equivalent test procedures as well and HALT/HASS test methodology
  • U. S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S. Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
