Craftsman Machinist Programmer
Description:
- Use SolidWorks software to accurately generate and edit existing detailed engineering drawings based on rough draft sketches, marked-up drawings, and verbal direction from engineers
- Accurately edit existing engineering drawings to reflect requested changes from engineers
- Support machinists and troubleshoot CAM programs
- Prove out programs
- Work from CAD files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified machining operations to customer specifications
- Create and edit complex programs using CAD/CAM systems, machine controllers and conversational programming
- Interact professionally and positively with supervisor, co-workers, and customers
- Work with integrity and follow assigned tasks through to completion
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education/Training:
- Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred
Experience:
- 2-5 years CNC programming experience
- Proficiency in MasterCAM CNC programming
- Experience with CNC 5-axis milling and turning operations
- Experience with Okuma and Haas 5-axis mills preferred
- Familiarity with machining various grades of aluminum, titanium, steel and stainless steel
- Must be organized and understand the criticality of maintaining configuration control of drawing versions in both hardcopy and softcopy file formats
