Craftsman Machinist Programmer

Description:

  • Use SolidWorks software to accurately generate and edit existing detailed engineering drawings based on rough draft sketches, marked-up drawings, and verbal direction from engineers
  • Accurately edit existing engineering drawings to reflect requested changes from engineers
  • Support machinists and troubleshoot CAM programs
  • Prove out programs
  • Work from CAD files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified machining operations to customer specifications
  • Create and edit complex programs using CAD/CAM systems, machine controllers and conversational programming
  • Interact professionally and positively with supervisor, co-workers, and customers
  • Work with integrity and follow assigned tasks through to completion
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Education/Training:
  • Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred

Experience:
  • 2-5 years CNC programming experience
  • Proficiency in MasterCAM CNC programming
  • Experience with CNC 5-axis milling and turning operations
  • Experience with Okuma and Haas 5-axis mills preferred
  • Familiarity with machining various grades of aluminum, titanium, steel and stainless steel
  • Must be organized and understand the criticality of maintaining configuration control of drawing versions in both hardcopy and softcopy file formats
