Battery Assembly and Testing Intern

The Hardware Research and Technology Laboratory (HRTL) is looking for an exceptional interns to contribute to PARC’s research activities in lithium ion battery manufacturing. PARC's CoEx printing technology is designed to improve the performance of anode and cathode electrodes, and PARC has received funding from the US Department of Energy to further develop and demonstrate the benefits of structured porosity within battery electrodes. The Mechanical and Fluid Systems group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern to assist our team in assembling and testing lithium-ion batteries. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers and technicians to support ongoing battery development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
•       Assemble and disassemble lithium-ion battery cells from electrode coatings
•       Conduct electrical tests, including voltage, current, and resistance measurements.
•       Record and analyze test data using software tools.
•       Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
•       Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
•       Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
Qualifications:
•       Degree in, or currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related electrochemical field.
•       Able to spend 3-6 months or longer onsite in Palo Alto, California
•       Familiarity with glove box operation and lithium ion cell assembly
•       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•       Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software.
