R&D Internship, Computational Design

PARC is offering a Research and Development (R&D) Internship opportunity in the areas of computational design, geometric modeling, and artificial intelligence. Exceptional graduate students with a solid grasp of fundamental (theoretical and computational) aspects are encouraged to apply.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop viable solutions to scientific research problems, that can be executed within the span of internship (e.g., three months).
  • Develop high quality code according to industry standards.
  • Contribute to conference or journal papers.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, or related discipline and at least one year of academic research experience as a Graduate/Research Assistant in an ongoing higher-education (Master’s or Ph.D.) program
  • Demonstrable excellence in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., C++ or Python, not notebooks); willingness to develop according to industry standards (development for deployment, clean and collaborative coding, git usage, unit testing, etc.)
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, apply academic techniques to solve real-world problems, develop new ideas into software products
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, especially additive and/or hybrid manufacturing, CNC milling or composites, is very helpful.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
