Summary
Postdoctoral Fellow – Molecular drivers of melanoma progression
A fully funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Florian A. Karreth, PhD in the Department of Molecular Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Work in the Karreth lab is focused in the molecular and genetic mechanisms promoting melanoma progression, metastasis, and drug resistance. Several projects are available to characterize newly identified pro-tumorigenic transcription factors and signaling pathways. These projects will involve the characterization of molecular mechanisms responsible for melanoma progression using a variety of cell biological, molecular biological, and biochemical methods. In addition, innovative genetically engineered mouse models will be generated to better understand these novel drivers in the context of spontaneous melanoma development. The ultimate goal is to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for therapeutic targeting, and novel therapeutic strategies will be tested in vitro and in novel mouse models.
