This Applications Engineer will be a key member of a team working on a breakthrough Automotive Cabin Electronics product within the Automotive Cabin Connectivity group. The Connectivity Applications Engineering group in Norwood, MA works on ICs and software that enable the next generation of in-car networking. A new level of performance and integration brings commensurate challenges in hardware, software, and system engineering.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
       ·  Work with the field and software team to understand the software system architecture of vehicle audio, compute, and sensor networks
       ·  Become an expert user of existing software stacks, device drivers, and application code to build demonstration systems for customers and trade shows
       ·  Support automakers who use cutting-edge ADI technology for systems such as road-noise cancellation and digital audio
       ·  Develop scripts to perform automated board-level testing
       ·  Train Analog Devices field engineers on the latest connectivity products
       ·  Evaluate new silicon and software
       ·  Support new product development and definition as part of a cross-functional team
       ·  Create customer-facing collateral including software examples and application notes that will improve the customer experience in designing with our products
 
Minimum qualifications

  • BS or MS Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with C or C++ programming
  • Understanding of OS concepts
  • Knowledge of embedded communication standards such as SPI, I2C, and I2S/TDM
  • The ability to read schematics and use test equipment such as oscilloscopes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work in teams and interface with customers
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with scripting and/or tools such as Labview and Matlab
  • Knowledge of audio
  • Knowledge of algorithms and signal processing
  • Knowledge of networking such as Ethernet or high-speed serial communication
  • Knowledge of automotive cabin electronics
  • Ability to develop simple UIs for testing and development
