Analog Devices’ Isolation Business Unit located in Colchester, Vermont is seeking multiple motivated, experienced Applications Engineering Interns to help develop the world class isolated interface products.  Our iCoupler isolators protect the intelligent edge and enable diverse applications including industrial motor drives, electric vehicles, green energy and the smart grid.  Our Vermont Design Center includes a mix of applications and design engineers from different business units.  Colchester is located on Lake Champlain, right next to Burlington which is home to the University of Vermont and is consistently ranked as one the best places to live.
Candidates should have proficiency in analog and digital systems design with commensurate laboratory, circuit simulation and fabrication skills. Knowledge of and experience with serial interfaces such as I2C, SPI, RS-485 or CAN and/or isolated power is preferred. Specific knowledge and experience with isolation or isolated applications is also highly valued. 
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Evaluation of isolated interface products in the lab
  • Simulating, designing, building and testing reference circuits
  • Generating test reports and presenting to the team
  • Assist with developing product collateral such as data sheets, evaluation reports, design guides, etc.
Minimum qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuits
Preferred qualifications
  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • GPA 3.5 or higher
  • Experience with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, RS-485 or CAN
  • Experience with power conversion circuits
  • Experience with printed circuit board design and assembly
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment to debug and evaluate circuit performance
