Intern, RF Product Test Engineer

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
The Product Test Engineering position will develop hardware and software for characterization and system evaluation on high volume fully automated and low volume lab bench equipment from product conception to manufacturing release in our Wireless Platform Group.  Key responsibilities include: 
May perform some or all of the following: 

  • Design (individually and as part of a team) software and hardware to characterize and production test state-of-the-art ICs 
  • Characterization of pre-release silicon encompassing the total solution including analog, digital, and firmware algorithms. 
  • Work in a design team to formulate test strategies for developing comprehensive tests ICs 
  • Use statistical analysis tools and reports oriented for validation of products to set test limits on new products and datasheets 
  • Develop verification and characterization test plans and develop the software required to automate the data collection process. 
  • Perform lab analysis and evaluation of new silicon and software, working with a multi-functional team to identify and correct functional and parametric problems. 
  • Participate in project development including support of design-for-testability, product qualification, and ongoing support of products in production 
  • Interface with design, product evaluation, process, manufacturing, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution 
Minimum qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing a BSEE with the intent to complete a MSEE  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to solve complex problems through the design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills toward the capture of aggressive schedule demands 
  • Knowledgeable in RF measurements and signal processing  
  • Familiarity with embedded software and verification practices.  
  • Strong teamwork ability within multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments 
  • Successful course work in at least one of the following areas: RF circuits,  ADCs, DACs, high-speed serial interfaces, and/or microcontrollers 
  • Lab experience using bench and/or production test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators 
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with LabVIEW, Python, Visual BASIC, HTML, and/or C/C++ 
  
Preferred qualifications (seeking interested in pursuing an RF and communications curriculum):

  • RF and communication systems education background. 
  • Working understanding of RF transceivers and their different sub-blocks. (Plls, Mixers, LNAs, ADCs\DACs, JESD) 
  • Knowledge of signal processing concepts and application 
  • Strong understanding of communication systems and standard
