ADI's Battery Power Solutions Business Unit is seeking an application engineer with experience in power management applications. Successful candidates have a solid knowledge of the low-power electronics systems and semiconductor industry and are continually self-educating on key trends and technologies. As an application engineer for the Battery Power Solutions group at ADI, you will work on cutting edge power management for the latest in portable consumer electronics. You will get a chance to participate in the development and evaluation of low-power management in mobile and wearable products and get the first-hand experience on the engineering behind these devices. We are looking for someone who can understand the technical problems customers are facing and can provide technical solutions. The corporate applications engineer role is highly valued at ADI and our application engineers receive considerable recognition for their work. The successful applicant will become part of a close-knit winning team.

Job Description:
  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Build evaluation boards and bench automation test setup
  • Conduct road-tests, performance optimization, and characterization
  • Work closely with product definers, design, business management, and customers throughout the product evaluation and optimization
  • Provide technical support to key customers and field engineers
  • Write application notes, user guides, articles, design ideas, datasheet manuscripts for internal/external publication​Research competitive solutions and devise better ones
  • Responsible for evaluating power management devices in handheld power applications, writing application notes, and giving technical support to FAEs and customers.
  • Responsible for conducting road tests, generating test reports, providing training to FAEs. The corporate applications engineer works closely with customers, Product Definers, Design Engineering, Business Management, Sales, and our Field Applications organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree plus 0-2 years of experience in power management applications
  • Understanding of transistor-level circuit design
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of power conversion (i.e. Switching Regulators and Linear Regulators) for handheld device applications
  • Experience using bench test equipment (Oscilloscope, Multi-meters, Function Generators etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern battery charging technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Python coding experience is a plus
