Job Description Overview

As an Engineer, Field Applications (New College Graduate), you will be placed in a one- to two-year long developmental program that offers real-world experience learning about ADI’s technologies, customer support, and opportunity generation – providing an excellent foundation for technical expertise and soft skills growth.  During the program, you will go through a progressive curriculum where you will receive professional development opportunities and mentorship before integrating into the worldwide sales team and deploying to your target market.
A sampling of some of the skills you will develop:
  • Circuit analysis, debug, and design
  • Systems thinking and analysis
  • Proposing technical solutions for both circuit- and system-level challenges
  • Prototype development including hardware and software
  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships – both internal and external
  • Educating others about ADI’s products and service solutions through technical presentations and demonstrations
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Assisting in the evaluation and design of customer systems – hardware and software
  • Troubleshooting customer hardware and software/firmware performance issues
  • Understanding and disseminating customer system requirements and market trends
  • Training colleagues and customers on ADI's technologies, products, and best practices
  • Contributing to internal product development strategy and product definitions
  • Cultivating relationships with customer engineering teams and management as well as internal ADI sales, product, and applications teams

Qualifications

  • BSEE or equivalent required
  • Basic understanding of electronic schematics, layout, and components required
  • Foundation of software fundamentals and skills required
  • Knowledge and understanding of analog, mixed-signal, or digital signal processing required
  • Experience debugging hardware and software using basic lab equipment required
  • Flexibility and desire to relocate to either the Detroit, MI metropolitan area or San Jose, CA (Bay Area) upon completion of the rotational development program required
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience with lab measurement and soldering equipment
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Solid communication skills along with comfort presenting technical topics
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally (~10% of the time)
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and debugging skills
  • Self-motivation and capability to work autonomously
  • Agility and desire for continuous learning

The wage range for a new hire into this position is $73,600 to $101,200.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, training, external market data, internal equity, or other bona fide factors.
  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
