The Precision Amplifier Group under the Instrumentation Business Unit is seeking a Test Development engineer located in Wilmington, MA at ADI’s corporate headquarters.  The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing high performance hardware and software solutions on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for first silicon verification, characterization, qualification and manufacturing of precision analog and mixed signal products.   You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with an experienced project development team comprised of members from disciplines such as marketing, design, product, assembly, quality, wafer foundry, and application engineering to bring a product concept to a released mass production solution. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and fast learner with strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Develop high performance test solutions to allow first silicon verification/debug, customer sampling, characterization, yield analysis, qualifications and release to the manufacturing test sites.
  • Define production test limits and datasheet specifications based on characterization data and production test gauge R&R studies.
  • Confirm complete test coverage of the datasheet with statistical significance to ensure product meets all manufacturing requirements.
  • Contribute to Design for Test (DFT) prior to first tapeout to ensure complete test coverage with cost effective test solution.
  • Development of Multi-Site ATE production solutions at wafer probe and final test.
  • Support offshore sites to maintain production yield and high quality.
  • Manage and maintain project schedules that align with the product release date.
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in EE or ECE.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to solve complex problems through design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data.
  • Performing statistical data analysis using Excel or other data tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work to aggressive schedules.
  • Ability to work on large multi-discipline development teams spanning multiple time zones.
  • Knowledge of mixed signal PCB design a plus.
  • Experience with evaluation of analog and mixed signal circuits.
  • Experience working with bench evaluation equipment. (meters, oscilloscopes)
  • Software languages (VB, C/C++ and National Instrument LabVIEW).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
