The MEMS development team seeking a motivated, experienced Mixed-Signal Design Intern to provide support to our ADEF Business Unit located at ADI’s Wilmington, MA. The MEMS development team designs and builds industry’s highest performance and lowest power micromachined inertial sensors. Our mixed-signal designers work with an interdisciplinary team to develop signal chains that originate the mechanical domain, cross into the analog electronic domain, ending in to digital the domain. Ideal candidates will have some active interest in and demonstrated exposure to all three domains.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Interact with a cross function team including analog design, digital design, and sensor design to understand existing inertial sensing systems and modify those solutions to demonstrate improved performance
  • Explore new signal process techniques involving system ID and adaptive filtering to yield higher performance sensing systems
  • Implement these signal processing improvements on real hardware / software to demonstrate the benefits of the approach
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to propose an implementation strategy
  • Communicate the results clearly and effectively to the larger development community
Minimum qualifications
  • Candidate must be a 2024 BS degree candidate or graduate student in Electrical Engineer
  • Proven keen interest in mixed-signal IC design both analog and digital
  • Strong analytical background in signal processing and feedback control systems
Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of IC design tools such as Cadence and Spice simulators
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems in MEMs sensors is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Relevant course work that covers, circuit simulation, analog IC design & layout, and mixed-signal design verification
