Engineering Intern

We are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our growing team in Layton, UT.
The role of the Engineering Intern is to provide design, engineering, and observation activities related to freight rail and transit projects. Engineering services include track design, grading and drainage design, utilities, pavement, atgrade crossings, structures design support, and railroad coordination for private and public projects.
Primary Duties:
- Assist engineers in designing various rail and civil engineering projects
- Perform alignment, draining, utilities, atgrade crossings, and earthwork design using AutoCAD, Microstation, and InRail
- Cost estimating, specifications, and construction submittals review
- Assist in preparation of rail and civil plans for freight, commuter, and transit projects
- Limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction
- Work closely with project managers to execute project deliverables
Required Qualifications:
- 0‐2 years’ experience
- Major Status in Civil Engineering, will consider commensurate experience
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must be flexible, proactive, responsive, and able to work independently
