The Advanced Analytics team is seeking a motivated early-career Ph.D. level Data Scientist at ADI’s San Jose site. The group focuses on the rapid development of analytics, software, and decision-making systems across the enterprise. The team leverages innovative data analysis techniques, a system analysis perspective, and domain/process knowledge to drive corporate value and aid the executive team. Close relationships with internal business partners and engineering teams enable growth and profitability, enhanced efficiency, and effective data-driven decision-making. Specialists on the team may focus on statistics, machine-learning/AI, software architecture, econometrics, optimization, and other business areas.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the development/deployment of new analytics products and strategies supporting the enterprise
  • Develop product, business, and process models, and identify/leverage new data sources
  • Build and deploy predictive and descriptive models, learning algorithms and data mining tools to improve insights, enhance data-driven business strategies and increase profitability 
  • Effectively communicate and translate results to ADI leadership and business unit teams
  • Grow to be a cross-enterprise expert in data, processes, and decision-making, driving architecture and design to support modern data science and software development
  • Serve as an internal consultant/expert in statistics, machine-learning, optimization, etc.
Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum education: Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Econometrics, or other quantitative discipline
  • Experience in developing prediction algorithms, solutions to prescriptive analytics problems, data mining techniques and/or econometric models
  • Experience building machine learning systems to solve customer-focused problems
  • Expertise in leveraging statistical methods and applying them to real-world business problems
  • Demonstrated expertise using Python is required, and knowledge of R and/or C++ is a plus
  • Ability to rapidly prototype analytic solutions and algorithms, and visualize/present results clearly
  • Experience with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, Linux, and software optimization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications

  • Strong interest in business analytics/operations and how data science can be used to drive value
  • Experience in developing and deploying optimal risk-based decision tools
  • A high level of analytical rigor and an ability to sift through significant amounts of information to enable the development/deployment of effective analytic solutions

The wage range for a new hire into this position is $111,320 to $153,065.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, training, external market data, internal equity, or other bona fide factors.
  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
