Systems Engineer Intern – Digital Healthcare

The Healthcare Systems team is seeking a motivated System Engineer Intern to provide support to our Digital Healthcare BU located at ADI’s Wilmington location. This position will provide the opportunity to work closely with Hardware, Software, and Biomedical Engineers in a collaborative environment to solve the challenges of extracting vital signs information from physiological measurements
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Interface with design, test, application, and software teams as the product(s) progress to completion.
  • Perform analysis and evaluation of new products to identify, simulate, and correct functional and parametric problems.
  • Develop bench evaluation capability to allow for performance measurements with attention paid to how the design fits into a larger system.
  • Debugging of mixed signal hardware/firmware.
  • Designing of hardware to support measuring human vital signs including heart rate, temperature, respiratory and cardio systems. Will work with the Firmware required for proper operation of the Hardware.
  • Aid in the creation of Verification and Validation plans by developing a thorough understanding of the system under test.
Minimum qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Electrical, Biomedical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Proficiency using standard lab equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, and power source meter.
  • Proficiency in application and design principles of low power, low noise electronics.
  • Familiarity with C/C++, Python, MATLAB, or other relevant programming language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of larger team to solve complex problems and challenges.
Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience with biopotential signal acquisition systems such as photoplethysmography (PPG), electrocardiography (ECG), electromyography (EMG), temperature, or electrodermal activity (EDA).
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems physiology.
  • Previous experience with wearable electronics.
  • Previous experience with circuit design, including schematic capture and PCB design.
