Water Conservation Intern - Summer 2023, Newport, OR

Pacific Seafood offers a unique, 12-week internship program that gives interns the chance to make an immediate impact on our company. Starting with a structured orientation week at our corporate headquarters near Portland, Ore, you’ll be able to meet the team and learn the full scope of our business. Throughout the summer months, you’ll dive deep into a meaningful project for our company, which you’ll then present to our executive leadership team at the end of your internship. This internship will work closely with engineering, value creation, management, and EHS team members to identify major sources of water use and creative programmatic and/or technical solutions to reduce consumption
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) at all times
  • Investigate current methodologies, practices and equipment used in processing and sanitation activities.
  • Identify creative solutions to minimize water usage and increase sustainable business practices.
  • Collaborate remotely with other Water Conservation Interns.
  • Prepare project overview and present findings to executive leadership.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
 
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood
Required
  • Pursuit of an Environmental Science related undergraduate/graduate degree
  • Interest in seafood and sustainability
Preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
