Civil/Site Engineering Intern: Summer 2023

Collins has an opportunity for a civil engineering student to apply their academic training to meaningful work experience with our civil site/land development design group in Denver, CO. The student will work under the supervision of a professional engineer and gain insight into the engineering processes and activities related to the civil engineering field. During this time, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in the field and office using programs such as AutoCAD and Microstation. The selected candidate will work on various projects, including: site design, utilities, and roadway design. 
 
SUMMARY:
The Engineering Intern performs routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. This position reports to a Project Manager. 

Position Description


TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • No field work anticipated for this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Junior or senior working towards a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. 
  • Previous software experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Blue Beam, or Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Previous software experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDF or other PDF editing software is a plus. 
  • A valid driver's license.
