Operations Intern - Summer 2023, Clackamas, OR

Pacific Seafood offers a unique, 12-week internship program that gives interns the chance to make an immediate impact on our company. Starting with a structured orientation week at our corporate headquarters near Portland, Ore, you’ll be able to meet the team and learn the full scope of our business. This internship will focus on identifying issues affecting our end users as we implement of our new Enterprise Resource Planner. Along with identifying issues, we’ll need your help in developing, implementing, and evaluating new training programs for our Clackamas, OR distribution center. You will partner with the operations team and others to learn about our current processes, systems, and procedures to identify and implement quantifiable improvements.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) at all times
  • Partner with team members to develop an understanding of the entire seafood production process, associated process flows, and costing models through hands-on experience, observation, and analysis
  • Identify and find creative solutions to ensure a successful implementation of our Enterprise Resource Planner
  • Develop training materials for our end users
  • use of continuous improvement, project management and change management practices
  • Observe and evaluate current process flows and create creative solutions to increase efficiencies
  • Prepare project overview and present findings to executive leadership.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
 
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood
Required
  • Pursuit of a Business related undergraduate/graduate degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Experience with various process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or TQM
  • Experience in SQL, R, Python, or other Data Analysis languages
