Family Life Internship

Position Description: Foundation for Family Life has multiple facets. MentorWorks is our healthy transition home & treatment program for individuals struggling with substance use addiction. We also have a community center called the Family Life Center, which is focused on providing education for families in our community to improve their relationships, creating a safe space for families to spend time together, and improving the lives of families throughout Utah and the nation through local advocacy work.

As a Family Life Intern, you would work with a team of other interns to build up our Family Life Center.
Primary tasks would include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and planning for annual Family Life Conference
- Planning & carrying out monthly community activities for local families held at our Family Life Center
- Planning & facilitating family life education groups
- Coordinating local family advocacy efforts through a program called "The Homefront Project" (https://homefront.unitedfamilies.org/)
- Partnering & collaborating with other partners in the family life/advocacy field
- Promoting our Certified Family Life Coaching class
- Along with tasks at the Family Life Center, interns would also assist with other tasks at the office, as needed. Some hours will likely include evenings.
- Optional: Become a Certified Family Life Coach through our 9-week online course to increase your skills and credibility.

We have big dreams for our Family Life Center, and we need your help to make these dreams a reality! Appropriate training will be provided to set you up for success in these roles & tasks. From there, the team's efforts for the Family Life Center will largely be self-directed. This position is unpaid. Requirement of 15 weeks, with a total of at least 200 hours completed.

Qualifications of Applicant: Intern must take initiative on projects and be able to work autonomously. Should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable talking with diverse groups of people. Must be organized with great time management skills and be able to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure. Must pay close attention to detail and accuracy. Must be trustworthy and have unquestionable integrity.
