Audio Visual Installation Technician

Salary commensurate upon experience and education: $23 - $26/hour

The Installation Technician (IT) installs low-voltage commercial audio, video and lighting systems in a variety of commercial businesses both locally and across the nation. Job responsibilities include installing LCD/ DLP video projection systems, touch panels, and speakers (ranging from ceiling mounted to clusters); pulling and terminating cables; and harnessing racks, patch bays and mixing consoles. Ford maintains high standards for quality of work and safety; therefore, every IT will obtain a DOT Certification and OSHA 10 certification before going out into the field. Ford also provides opportunities for additional training and development.
  
Qualifications:
  • Experience in AV, telecommunications, construction, or related industry
  • Proficient in using basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to travel 50-75% including overnight travel
  • Ability to comfortably work at heights on lifts, ladders, and/or scaffolding
  • Ability to lift to 40 lbs
  • Valid drivers license with a good driving record
  • Ability to solder and crimp connectors (XLR, RJ45, TRS, BNC and F-CONN)
  • Comfortable working in a construction environment (wearing PPE, dusty/unclean workspace, lack of climate control)
