2023 Field Rotational Program – Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

The DuPont Field Engineering & Supply Chain Development Program provides young professionals and recent graduates with the opportunity to become catalysts for change--transforming industries and improving everyday life. With an accelerated approach to career development, the program combines immersive assignments with formal education, networking, mentoring and leadership exposure through on-the-job rotational experiences.

Participants are encouraged to forge their own path by rotating through a series of 2-to-3-year assignments across different businesses, locations, and functions including Operations & Engineering, Global Procurement, and Science & Innovation. Successful engineering and supply chain candidates will complete a minimum of two assignments but may complete up to five. Complete geographic flexibility is required to enable a greater pool of possibilities and diversity of cross-functional experiences.

Position Specific Information
Our engineers fill a variety of meaningful positions that provide opportunities for personal and professional development while contributing to DuPont through implementing engineering best practices, performing process analysis and improvement, and participating on projects that improve safety, product quality, and equipment or infrastructure.  Examples are listed below.

Manufacturing Technical – Provides process, materials, and/or equipment engineering technical expertise to manufacturing operations to improve safety and production performance.

Capital Projects – Performs engineering analyses, technical reviews, calculations, planning functions, scope analysis, general estimating, cost control and schedule oversight on capital projects.

Automation & Process Control – Develops and improves manufacturing process control strategies and models, participates on automation projects, and supports implementation, commissioning, and validation of application solutions.

Leveraged Engineering - Provides tactical and advanced engineering expertise in a leveraged consulting capacity involving the application of established technology and principles by focused discipline (i.e. chemical, mechanical, electrical, energy, facilities, process engineering).

Equipment Reliability & Maintenance – Performs analysis and predicts equipment life for vessels, piping, mechanical equipment and materials of construction to improve process safety, reliability and product quality.

Continuous Improvement – Leads or supports lean, six sigma, and other continuous improvement projects by applying methodology and tools in support of business objectives.

Product Quality – Analyzes ongoing quality performance of product and process data, summarizes performance for periodic process capability review by leadership and reviews customer complaint data to provide early identification of customer satisfaction patterns.

Technical Service – Provides internal and external technical support in the development and application of products, processing techniques, troubleshooting applications, and resolution of problems.

Preferred Skills
We are seeking candidates that have a passion for exploring cross-functional assignments within integrated operations.  Successful candidates have demonstrated leadership capabilities, are creative problem solvers, have an intellectual curiosity, and thrive in ambiguity.

Other preferred skills include six sigma green belt certification (or willingness to become certified in the first 24 months), training and experience with root cause failure analysis, process hazards analysis, and high hazard process safety.

Program and Position Requirements
The DuPont Field Engineering & Supply Chain Development Program seeks top talent.  To be considered for enrollment, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Pursuing or hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.0 scale)
  • Preferred minimum of 6 months of paid co-op or internship equivalent experience in your engineering discipline / major
  • Maximum of 3 years of industry full-time work experience
  • 100% geographic flexibility to allow for best career development fit
  • Willingness to relocate to a new location every 2 to 3 years
  • A five-year company commitment to complete a minimum of two assignments (usually 24-36 months per assignment)
  • Willingness to be on-call for plant area support when required
  • Legal right to work in the United States without restriction
  • No visa sponsorships
