Process Engineer II

Job Title: Engineer, Corporate Process
Location: Carrollton, GA
Reports To: Manager, Corporate Process Engineering
The Process Engineer will be the subject matter expert driving the standards for processes around drawing/stranding, extrusion, CV, finishing and packaging. This individual will be integral in developing strong relationships with modernization, R&D and plants and creating the Center of Excellence.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Process design – Ability to work with OEM to communicate and shape solutions to meet the Southwire business need.
Understand and transfer product design knowledge and execute into machine/process specifications and solutions
Define & implement the use of project management tools to assist in planning and execute process strategy.
Develop and implement, for each project, the management controls necessary for successful project completion. The controls will consist of project scope, manufacturing timeline and customer communication plan.
Ability to review, document and communicate technical process details into simple and understandable standards to proliferate across the organization to enable:
Operator training and understanding
Maintenance requirements and communications
Process improvement opportunities
Have a curious and inquisitive mind to research the next technological innovation within and outside the traditional wire and cable business to drive process innovation and excellence
Understand and learn the Industry 4.0 concepts and partner with the connected enterprise team to drive a scalable and repeatable model to drive process data analytics and intuitive triggers and solutions
Assist in deployment of center of excellence model for common wire and cable processes by:
Documenting standards – Process Parameters, Hardware needs, PLC, and Measurement system packages
Working with the process team to execute on standards while maintaining the uniqueness of each business model
Create compelling dashboards to measure progress and drive accountability
Deliver on efficiency savings
Have an ideal mix of technical and hands on approach to successfully deliver on new projects and improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain a central knowledge database for sharing and trouble shooting
Ability to work with product development team to create a robust project plan reliable and repeatable product launches
Key Requisites:
Engineering Background – Mechanical, Industrial Electrical engineering degree required
Strong Interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Analytical skills with the ability to use big data
Self-starter with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement – Blending a scientific and hands on approach to help drive towards process excellence.
1-2 years Proven experience in managing processes in a Manufacturing environment – Preferable a continuous manufacturing environment
Ability and desire to learn technological innovations and applications.
Software Skills – MS Office, SAP, or other ERP system knowledge, VISIO, or other process mapping platforms, AUTOCAD and other mechanical design software
Must be able to travel to manufacturing sites as needed
