Leadership Trainer Internship
Job Description + Company Overview
FOCUS Training is looking for highly motivated students to join our Leadership Trainer Intern team. Traditionally, FOCUS delivers high-energy, in-person leadership and college readiness programs to students across the U.S., and in 2020 introduced virtual program offerings. Interns will do a combination of virtual and in-person work, dependent on CDC health and safety guidelines. If and when applicable, interns will travel with experienced trainers to facilitate interactive programs for middle and high school students, and learn how to effectively lead a team, develop and deliver educational workshops, and polish their public speaking skills. As a leadership development company, FOCUS Training has used experiential learning techniques, dynamic trainers, and deep content to deliver exceptional leadership development experiences.
Requirements
- Junior status or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
- 2.8 GPA or higher
- Must be available to travel between end of May through the end of July 2022 (including weekends) depending on CDC guidelines with regard to COVID-19
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Previous public speaking or facilitation experience preferred but not required
- Must have access to computer with working webcam and reliable internet access
- Must be able to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination for company travel
Job Overview
- End of May through end of July commitment
- Facilitate interactive leadership programs for student groups as small as 5 and as large as 200, 6th - 12th grade, virtually and/or in-person
- Utilize Zoom and various virtual learning platforms to work remotely with FOCUS staff and student participants
- Domestic travel for program facilitation if/when needed; travel-associated costs to be paid for by FOCUS Training
- Interact with clients and students in a professional manner
- Develop content and create interactive leadership activities
