Internship - Community Engagement

IDRA is accepting internship applications for a Community Engagement Intern who will learn about IDRA’s community engagement history and framework and assist with current student and family engagement projects.

The Intercultural Development Research Association is an independent, non-profit organization, led by Celina Moreno, J.D. Our mission is to achieve equal educational opportunity for every child through strong public schools that prepare all students to access and succeed in college.

IDRA supports students, families, and public schools through our research, policy advocacy, and educator support to address issues that impact school funding, bilingual education, and curriculum diversity. A major part of that work involves collaborating with young people and their families, many of whom are Spanish-speaking.

  • Organize and format issue briefs and infographics for IDRA’s community engagement projects.
  • Assist with email, social media and online forum communications with IDRA’s community engagement and advocacy networks, including Education CAFE
  • Write and design bilingual materials for IDRA’s ethnic studies communities of practice.
  • Help facilitate bilingual virtual community engagement sessions, including providing technical assistance, notetaking, creating materials, leading break-out sessions, and designing processes for post-session engagement.

Note: At this time, IDRA staff are working remotely. Hopefully, we will be back in person at some point. Regardless, we are committed to our internship program. Applicants do not have to reside in the San Antonio area.
