Engineer-In-Training (EIT) – Surface Transportation

The purpose of J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is “Helping Each Other Create Better Communities.” We foster a teamwork environment to solve problems that improve society – while providing employees growth opportunities. Are seeking a Project Designer (Engineer-In-Training-E.I.T.) to work in the locations listed above.  This position provides a variety of clients with transportation planning and engineering services and provides support to our other offices across five states. 

This is a project design position ideally suited for the recent college graduate or a college graduate with 1-3 years of experience. This position will be part of a larger design team managed by experienced project engineers and managers. This position will be mentored by an experienced transportation engineer. Typical work may include:

·        Develop the design of transportation projects for federal, state, and local clients.

·        Participate in all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction.

·        Analyze engineering data, survey data, interpret design standards and guidelines, and make sound decisions to solve design challenges.

·        Collaborate with other engineers, planners and clients (public and private) on projects. 

·        EITs will partner with senior engineers and planners for reports, design, and construction phase services for various private and public agency transportation projects.

·        Develop plans, specifications, and estimates using CADD, MS Office programs, and other design software.

·        Develop intimate familiarity with design standards, processes, and procedures.

·        Develop 3D models of projects using CADD.

·        Roadway design, drainage design, traffic control design, staging/phasing design, utility coordination and design.

·        Coordination with structural engineers, traffic engineers, and other disciplines.

·        Bachelor degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required. 

·        Certification as Engineer-in-Training (passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) required.

·        0-3 years of Transportation Engineering work/project management experience. 

·        MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D experience is preferred and Design Experience is desired.

·        Excellent communication and writing skills.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000/Determined by experience and education.
