Metal Plating Tech

Work Schedule:Part-time with Full-time potential Hours per Week:20-30Wage/Salary Type :Hourly Wage/Salary Amount ($):$14.00-$15.00/hour based on experience
 Supervisor:Redge Flake *Job Description:Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reads sales order to determine the process (color, certification requirements, etc.) for the designated part to be coated. Follows the sales order as specified step by step to ensure quality plating of products.
• Monitors process control of all plating and cleaning baths to ensure process is within predetermined parameters.
• Follows established safety procedures and work instructions.
• Measures, marks, and masks areas per customer specification.
• Inspects coated or plated areas for defects such as air bubbles or uneven coverage.
• Maintain production records.
• Set up, operate, or tend plating or coating machines to coat metal with zinc or nickel, anodize, or other metal finishes to protect or decorate surfaces.
• Immerse objects to be coated or plated into cleaning solutions, or spray objects with conductive solutions to prepare them for plating.
• Adjust controls to set temperatures of coating substances and speeds of machines and equipment.
• Operates hoist system for submerging the parts in plating or cleaning baths (on zinc and nickel line only). This may also be performed by hand.
• Rack and unrack parts by hand. Prepare products for shipping.
• Occasionally answer customer questions in relation to process specifications and applications of coatings.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:Qualifications:
• Education- High School diploma required
• Customer service experience preferred
• Attention to Detail
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
o Must be able to read work instructions in order to follow proper procedures
o Must be able to read safety warnings and chemical labels
• Must be able to communicate verbally with others
• Able to carry out basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division mostly in relation to surface area and volume formulation
• Positive work ethic and attitude are a must as work is carried out in fast- paced production environment

Work Conditions:

Workers are sometimes required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, or operate heavy equipment (hoist and forklift). The production facility is organized so as to require minimal walking during processing. Workers are required to be on their feet for 95-100% of each production day. To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.


Physical Requirements:
Candidate must able to lift 35-50 lbs over head and tanks. Must pass on-site physical abilities test.
