The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Information Management and Analysis has an opening for a Scientific Aid in their downtown Sacramento office. Apply to begin your career in environmental science by joining a dynamic team with many learning and networking opportunities. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 19th Floor, Sacramento.

Typical duties include: Assists with entering, reviewing, compiling, querying, flagging, and synthesizing environmental data. Assists with quality assurance review of lab data in order to make sure that the data is accurate and verifiable. Assist with creating website content that is highly readable and ADA-accessible. Request updates from IT Support Services to OIMA program websites and make modifications to OIMA program Wiki sites. Assist to write, edit, review and format OIMA scientific communication documents such as standard operating procedures, scientific reports, management memos, contact lists and fact sheets. Respond to requests from internal Water Boards staff and external organization representatives to access, compile, and transmit water quality and environmental datasets and documents, including, but not limited to OIMA technical reports, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance project plans. Assist in quarterly meeting preparation, including preparing meeting notes. Support organizational tasks such as preparation of documents (e.g., flow charts, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations) and document formatting and management to inform stakeholders and federal and state agencies of OIMA regulatory requirements and compliance.
