Engineering Interns

This position is designed to provide a career-oriented introduction to the background, philosophy, concepts, and scope of the Forest Service Engineering and Architecture functions and a practical understanding of the policies of the employing organization.  Assignments are temporary in nature and, in conjunction with formal education from an accredited educational institution, the Intern NTE will gain the necessary competencies for future career opportunities in the Engineering and Architecture field.  Work assignments are selected to ensure that the Intern NTE receives on-the-job training and work experience in one or more program functions.  

This position is temporary in nature and would work full-time during the summer (2022) when not in classes and may have the opportunity to work occasionally part-time through the school year as coursework and schedules allow. This position will be mentored by a professional engineer and work along side many other disciplines with the Forest Service all while learning what it is really like to work on your local National Forest as an engineer.
