Scope of the Position:
In this role, you will direct and develop the tool room resources, provide tooling support to plant operations on both a day-to-day level and as part of continuous improvement. You will also be the liaison between the plant and division tooling engineering to ensure smooth transitions of new projects. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead Tool Room employees
- Track and plan tooling preventative maintenance
- Ensure critical spare parts are available
- Provide support for equipment, processes and new products.
- Specify and order equipment in support of project work.
- Identify key improvement opportunities within the department.
- Maintain tool drawings and associated work instructions
- Lead tool engineering projects • Develop experiment and validation plans,
- Draw conclusions from data and make technical recommendations.
- Provide verbal and written updates to supervisor and leadership.
Travel Requirements:
- Limited, 10% domestic.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
- Standard business hours; Monday – Friday.
Desired Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Tooling, or similar degree program.
Required Years and Area of Experience:
- 2-5+ years tooling / engineering experience.
- You will need relative engineering experience.
- We will also consider co-op and internship experience.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of plastic molding technologies.
- Experience within a manufacturing plant environment.
- Familiarity with process data management applications/systems.
- Ability to take routine data retrieval and analysis and develop a standard methodology.
- Able to handle multiple complex tasks and set priorities with multiple internal customers.
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Applications.
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
- Experience with CAD drafting; Solidworks.
- Basic knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean (DMAIC) methodology.

- The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
- Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions.
