STAFF ENGINEER
Founded in 1952, Hammett & Edison, Inc. provides expert consulting services to various parties involved in the wireless telecommunications and broadcast fields. Located north of San Francisco
in Sonoma, California, the firm has a staff of 16, including 4 registered Professional Engineers,
4 staff engineers, and 8 support staff. We specialize in:
- Radio frequency (“RF”) safety and regulatory compliance
- Intermodulation distortion and interference analysis
- Wireless coverage measurement
- Acoustic noise prediction and measurement
- Broadcast signal prediction, measurement, and improvement
- Broadcast frequency allocation, transmitting site selection, and optimized antenna design
- Public speaking on RF engineering topics
We are currently searching for a full-time staff engineer to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by some of the best engineers in our field. You will develop theoretical models of RF conditions near wireless and broadcast facilities using our proprietary software, work with engineers from wireless providers to develop antenna facility designs, conduct field measurements at wireless and broadcast sites, and perform acoustic noise analyses. Additionally, you will interact with clients from a variety of backgrounds, attend community meetings and public hearings as a technical expert, and work on multiple, fast-paced projects.
Desired qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Electrical preferred, with emphasis in antennas and wireless telecommunications
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and drive to learn and grow into a leadership role
- Good technical writing and oral presentation skills
- Self-starter capable of working independently as well as collaboratively
