Power Electronics Senior Engineer

Position Summary:
Carrier is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for developing and integrating advanced power electronics circuits for HVAC Residential and light commercial applications.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and validate power electronics in the range of 1 kW to 30 kW for HVAC applications 
  • Develop and verify digital and analog power electronics control hardware.
  • Create test procedures to verify hardware designs.
  • Lead PCB design activities (gate driver, control board, etc.)
  • Lead hardware design and debugging activities
  • Perform component reliability and lifetime analysis.
  • Ensure products satisfy UL and IEC requirements.
  • Create simulation models for hardware design using PSpice, PLECS, and/or PSIM.
  • Verification and testing of power electronics hardware and software subsystems in a lab environment and a hardware-in-the-loop environment.
  • Evaluate and debug circuit design. Perform root cause analysis of failures and identify potential solutions.
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Authorized to work in united states
  • Experience with motor control algorithms
  • hands-on experience with Inverter hardware implementation
  • Proactive and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment 
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills 
Education:
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of working experience, or M.S. degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of working experience, or a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
