FPGA Designer

Job Responsibilities


In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and verifying both new and existing FPGA-based programmable logic (PL) Tactical Data Link (TDL) radio designs. Using HDL and model-based design tools and techniques, you will use your proven knowledge of embedded design to provide a new level of capability within Viasat products. Working in small teams with the system, software, and hardware engineers, you will take advanced designs to new levels to bring the next generation of Viasat TDL products to life!

 Requirements:


  • 3+ years FPGA design experience
  • Experience using Xilinx Vivado with System Generator and/or Simulink for HDL code generation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Verilog or VHDL along with revision control tools
  • Knowledgeable in digital signal processing, communications, and computer architecture
  • Experience developing embedded solutions using MicroBlaze soft processors
  • Ability to independently analyze, test, and debug embedded designs
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • US government position. US citizenship required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Active Secret clearance

Preferences:


  • Experience with common verification tools such as Mentor Graphics Questa
  • Experience creating test software using C/C++
  • Experience in designing waveform architectures
  • Experience creating Matlab scripts
