Industrial Project Engineer

Job Description

The Industrial Project Engineer is responsible and accountable for the manufacturing and supply chain readiness of new product offers globally. These projects range in complexity that span functions, organizations, geographic regions, and cultures. The Industrial Project Engineer coordinates the efforts of engineering, offering management, manufacturing, procurement, quality, order fulfillment, logistics, service, and other cross functional groups to optimize time to market while monitoring product cost, schedule, and resources. The Industrial Project Engineer will deploy tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Six Sigma, capacity analysis, product cost management & FMEA to drive manufacturability and process optimization. The Industrial Project Engineer must build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with project stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization, to ensure success of the projects.
Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate cross-functional planning and project execution, related to supply chain readiness, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the agreed upon scope
  • Perform detailed analysis on the supply chain architecture – optimized footprint & structure
  • End to end process mapping (systems & physical component flows)
  • Make vs. Buy studies
  • Production planning (assembly line design, capacity analysis, cycle time optimization, stock sizing, etc)
  • Perform detailed analysis on product cost & suggest opportunities for reduction & manufacturing optimization
  • Identify key issues and drive decisions to ensure that the project does not slip
  • Identify key risks and prepare contingency plans
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects
Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree. Master’s in Business Administration is a plus
Requirements:

  • Proficient in value stream mapping, supply chain design and optimization
  • Demonstrated competence in problem solving, data analysis, project planning
  • Proven ability to lead others to achieve common goals and to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to quickly develop cross functional relationships to achieve business objectives
  • Process and results oriented with proven ability to accomplish goals
  • Proven comprehension of manufacturing processes & process optimization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications: Advanced Excel
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software is a plus (AutoCAD, Creo)
