Software Product Specialist

Job Description

The Offering Specialist is responsible for supporting Offering leadership to ensure achievement of key performance indicators, specifically for critical infrastructure software monitoring solutions. Also responsible for assisting in voice of customer to understand how customers are utilizing Vertiv software and which features provide the most value and impact to business operations. Additional responsibilities with will include market trend analysis, data analysis, the creation and management assistance of the Company’s offering-related materials and information required to support a variety Go to Market initiatives. A key opportunity within the role will be to act as a liaison across the organization teams in helping develop software solutions that enhance the usability and value of all Vertiv offerings.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to efficiently bring new software products or new versions to the market effectively and efficiently. Develop and execute product lifecycle management plans including product introduction, version/feature additions and possible end of life activities. 
  • Gain insight into customer needs and desired outcomes through extensive customer, channel, and market research. Convert insights into innovative software strategies and detailed market requirements. Ensure all customer facing offering documentation and marketing collateral is available and accurate. Develop and maintain business case(s) through product development and launch. Align business case and financial forecasts with regional go-to-market teams. Provide offering information to Customers, Sales, Customer Service and Development teams.
  • Work in partnership with Marketing teams to develop programs for demand generation. Help develop sales and marketing strategies and plans to maximize product revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in profitability and sales forecast of product line(s). Assist in list pricing and discount development as well as product line profitability.
  • Conduct end user testing for user interface improvements, focusing on usability and functionality.
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent years of experience within the data center hardware and software industry.
Requirements:

  • Will need a strong focus on customer needs, markets, industries, channels, and competitive software solutions.
  • Experience with data center monitoring software is a nice to have, but not necessary.
  • Will be required to learn hardware and software dependencies and develop/maintain support documentation.
  • Ability to quickly develop cross-functional relationships to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrate competence in problem solving, data analysis, & project management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other business applications.
  • Excellent communications skills – written & verbal.
  • Experience with customer service, including sales and support.
