We are currently seeking an Engineer for our Mechanical Engineering Practice in Shanghai, China. In this role, you will work as part of a team to apply the principals of mechanical engineering to a wide variety of technical problems. Must be willing to travel, as needed, to project sites. This position requires relocation to China.

You will be responsible for:
  • Traveling with senior staff to client sites
  • Analyzing the failure of a wide variety of products via field inspections, laboratory testing, and engineering analysis
  • Providing failure prevention services
  • Project management and marketing
  • Inspecting, photographing and documenting products
  • Communicating with clients in the U.S. and Asia
  • Developing tests and test programs using a variety of analytical equipment
  • Conducting design reviews on components and products
  • Conducting manufacturing facility audits/evaluations to help improve quality/reduce rejection rates

You will have the following skills and qualifications:
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required, verbal fluency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Ability to conduct an engineering investigation of defective products and determine the cause(s) of failure
  • Excellent hands-on engineering skills
  • Training and experience in stress analysis and mechanical design
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Ability to clearly communicate findings through reports and presentations
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated requiring minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational, teamwork and management skills
