Research Scientist

Since our inception in 2017, Group K Diagnostics (GKD), has been focused on building a first in class diagnostic solution that will revolutionize patient health care. As the science has continued to evolve, our company has grown. At Group K Diagnostics (GKD), we are aiming to change the diagnostic process for both patients and caregivers by increasing accessibility to what we believe to be one of the most important assessments of human health – the blood test.  Our team is developing a single-platform point-of-care device. The technology leverages paper microfluidics and proprietary image processing software to deliver test results in a short period of time. We are a team of dedicated innovators who are focused on bringing the best point of care test to market, and continually iterating new technologies to continue to stay at the forefront of testing.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop, design and test paper based microfluidics IVD devices. 
  • Support the creation and execution of standards and protocols and perform daily research activities in the laboratory.
  • Ensure processes are compliant with GDP, GCP, GLP, etc. 
  • Conduct research benchwork in a regulated research lab. 
  • Attend research meetings and report the findings
  • Report to the Director of Research and Development and support all research-related tasks / activities
  • No direct reports

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • Masters in Molecular Biology or bioengineering
  • 1-2 years experience in molecular diagnostics in academic or industrial experience 
  • 1-2 years experience in doing research using molecular techniques using PCR, qPCR etc
  • Experience using MS office, statistical software and Google Scholar
  • Experience using search databases like Google Scholar
  • Should be experienced and comfortable using body fluids and working in BSL2/BSL3 laboratories
  • Self motivation 
  • Organized with strong communication skills 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a small, fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualification

  • Prior experience in molecular diagnostics 
  • IVD development experience preferred
