Product Quality Engineer University Grad

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will grow your engineering career as you:
  • Review product yield and field reliability data for trends and provide analysis and recommendations to business
  • Help drive root cause investigations and process improvement efforts as well as create/implement world class quality practices (i.e. Pareto Analysis, Histograms, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Cpk, etc.) and business tools to help streamline this analysis
  • Contribute and provide input to evaluate quality performance of Viasat product
  • Help coordinate Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Failure Analysis Requests (FARs) for improvement. Conduct and provide analysis on Gage R&R studies
  • Using your strong analytical mind and superior communication skills, you will provide QA technical support on Field reliability issues and Product Yield and Test improvement
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams for problem solving and project work
  • Identifies process gaps, researches methods to fill these gaps and provide recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate across all level and functions
  • Strong math, statistics and data analysis skills
  • Ability to identify stakeholders, build relationships, and influence others to drive progress
  • Excellent judgement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, can balance attention to detail with swift execution.

Preferences
  • Some experience in Quality Engineering in support of electronic assemblies including SMT CCAs, Box Build and Test
  • Working knowledge of PLM Tool (Agile) as well as ERP system (i.e. Oracle).
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, & Power Point.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex document and engineering drawings (GD&T a plus)
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies
